Celebrating 20 years of Storytelling

SEPTEMBER-“Manners Under the Big Top”  Step right up and join Ringmaster Jo in celebrating Good Manners Month for Kids under the big top.  It’s a tent load of circus stories and songs that teach the basics of good manners.  Listeners will learn the principles of respect, kindness, courtesy and thoughtfulness as they take an active role as tigers, elephants, tight rope walkers, and more.

OCTOBER-“Country Hoe Down”  Put on your cow-friendly boots and grab a partner as Granny McDonald invites you and the youngins to some rootin’ tootin’ down on the farm animal tales.  Whether it’s kissing a cow, givin’ a pig a belly rub, or chasing rabbits through the pumpkin patch, it’ll be the fall hootenanny you’re lookin’ for!

NOVEMBER-“Thank Your Way Across the U.S.A.”  Jo has filled her cornucopia with special stories that let children explore and celebrate the diversity and excitement of our country.  We’ll travel in tales over shores, fields, trails, beaches, and mountains to discover the abundant blessings of this great nation.

DECEMBER-“Raggedy Ann and Andy’s Christmas Adventures”  Join Raggedy Ann (alias Jo Ho) and other Raggedy pals for some true candy heart holiday tales about finding happiness within, giving to others, and the joy of friendship.

JANUARY-“Animals of the Arctic”  Put on those woolies and long johns as we venture north to meet some of the most unique Arctic animals there are. Hear interesting facts and delightful stories of Walrus, Seal, Polar Bear, Snowy Owl, and Musk Ox.  We might even have a surprise encounter with Beluga Whale on this frozen escapade!

FEBRUARY-“Bedtime Tales and Lullabies”  Kids will be anxious to snuggle up in a warm blanket for Jo’s “tuck me in” stories and songs that sooth and delight the soul.  We’ll get cozy this wintry month with these fun toe-warming tales.  Pass the hot chocolate but don’t mistake your pillow for a marshmallow!

MARCH-“Delicious Nutritious Stories, Songs and Poems”  It’s National Nutrition Month and we’ll take a big bite into delectable tales, tunes, and rhymes about food that encourage good eating habits.  We’ll play with our food a bit with some silly ditties too!  How about some fried worms with that broccoli?

APRIL-“Be A C.H.E.R.U.B.” (A Child Helping Earth Remain Universally Beautiful)  Celebrate Earth Day Month in this extraordinary “going green” storytelling program.  Through informative teaching tales, Jo invites tiny hands to lend their hands in helping our world remain beautiful. Kids will delight in earning their “wings” by doing some save the earth things!

MAY-“Caldecott Award Winning Picture Books”  Since 1938 The Caldecott’s have been recognized for their “joyousness of picture books as well as their beauty.”  Zip through the years of these award winners with Jo with stops for her favorites and a look at many incredible illustrations.  This storytelling/reading adventure will be a “Glorious Flight” (winner 1984) for your young scholars.
