JUNE-DECEMBER 2012
JUNE-“CAMPING TRIP” A funny fishing tale, a not so scary boogie man tale, a big bear in the woods tale, and a tent mishap tale guarantee to start your summer off with a belly full of laughter.
JULY-“CELEBRATE YOUR WAY ACROSS THE U.S.A.” Explore and celebrate the diversity and excitement of our country in stories from across the nation. Happy Birthday, America!
AUGUST-“NOCTURNAL ZOO” It’s a staying up late imaginary field trip to the zoo to learn about the habits of owls, bats, armadillo’s, and more. Through stories, pictures, and darling puppets, children become engaged in discovering how nocturnal animals use their five senses for an “active night.”
SEPTEMBER-“ABC, 123” Back to school alphabet and number fun with silly characters and humorous stories to get the kids revved up for reading and counting. Chicka, chicka vroom, vroom!
OCTOBER-“APPLEFEST” Join Johnny (Jo) Appleseed in a “Delicious” autumn “Gala” as she spins some harvest time tales of the “McIntosh” of all fruits—THE APPLE! From “Rome” to “Fuji” with “Granny Smith” and “Jonathan,” youngin’s will delight in this “Honey Crisp” apple pickin’ good time.
NOVEMBER-“AROUND THE THANKSGIVING TABLE” Sit down to a festive trip around the Thanksgiving table with delightful stories told by the kinfolk gathered. Why even the baby has an anecdote to share!
DECEMBER-“O CHRISTMAS TREE!” Dressed in “fir” from head to toe, Jo shares beautiful stories of the cherished Christmas tree and the joy it brings to people everywhere. She’ll invite the children to help “decorate” as the tales unfold.
JANUARY-JULY 2013
JANUARY-“IF YOU GIVE A CHILD A MITTEN” With just one mitten or dozens of pairs, mismatched, or perfectly stitched, there’s a snow-covered mountain of winter fun in these funny, hand-warming ditties of the MITTEN.
FEBRUARY-“ME AND MY BLANKIE” Whether in a crib, on grandma’s feather bed, or at the stadium, the beloved “Blanket” has brought comfort and warmth to the beholder. Wrap up in some cozy fleece tales lined with smiles and giggles.
MARCH-“ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE KID DAY” (Thursday, March 21, 2013) Begun by Campfire USA, this day is a special day for kids to call their own. We’ll celebrate all month long with stories of love and support from parents and teachers of absolutely incredible kids--yours!
APRIL-“GRANDMA JO’S SUITCASE OF POETRY ” April is National Poetry Month and “Grandma Jo” is coming to visit! She’s packed her suitcase full of the best rhymes and top picks of poetry for young children. “There was an old lady who swallowed a poem…
MAY-“DIGGING IN THE DIRT” Dig a little in the dirt and we’ll find a seed. Dig a little more; we’ll unearth a wiggly worm. Digging further down we’ll view a prairie dog’s burrow. And way, way down…dinosaur bones to be found? Let’s dig up some stories while we’re at it!
JUNE-“LET’S GO FLY A KITE” Yes, even inside we can go up to the highest heights with the simplest to the most ornate of these tethered aircraft gadgets. Children will love the stories of how kites were invented; the diversity of kite designs from around the world, and learn kite-flying safety rules too.
JULY-“FIVE OCEANS OF FUN” Dive into the oceanic tales of the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Southern, and Arctic and explore the unique creatures that inhabit these deep and different waters.
