From the Derby Reporter, by Karen Faley:

A good storyteller can seduce the most reluctant listener. That’s just what Jo Ho the storyteller was able to do one afternoon last week at Tanglewood Elementary.   Even the sophisticated preteen boys sitting way in the back were reduced to giggles and in the end, Jo Ho even got them to participate in the stories. And throughout the stories, she gave children in the audience hand motions they could do to participate in the story and even called children from the audience up in front of the crowd to act out the stories with her.  Jo has appeared before in Derby, said Carri Fry, Derby Public Library children’s services coordinator.  “She’s amazing,” she said.  “She’s a very good storyteller.”

Thank you so much for coming to Mill Creek!  You were absolutely wonderful.  You did an excellent job holding their attention and involving all the kids.  The children were captivated and loved their time with you.
Laura Thornburg & Mill Creek PTA

"If Shakespeare were alive today he would have enjoyed Jo Ho because she has a way with expressing words on stage that captivates children's hearts and minds. She spent last week telling stories to children and their families throught the state of North Dakota."
Scott Wagar, Editor of Courant, the Official Newspaper of Bottineau County, July 26, 2005

Thank you so much for your wonderful program on "Bully, Don't You Push Me Around." Your program is well-needed to educate children to their choices.

Thank you for your performance at McConnell AFB Library. We had 119 participants at your program and everyone had wonderful things to say about it!
-Tamara Ross, Program Coordinator
Excellent! Works great with children but her style is enjoyable for adults.
-Kit Voorhees, Nebraska Storytelling Festival

As we developed the three part residency you shared here in Glasco and Miltonvale, we thought it was a good design. The actual events exceeded my expectations! The faculty response was 100% positive. Their comments included admiration for your ability to connect with kindergarten through sixth grade students in the same program, never losing the attention of any students! They found your connection with the students the best of any storyteller we have had. The fact that students who were not accompanied by parents for the afterschool family story workshop came alone just because they wanted to continue working with you is perhaps the strongest statement of appreciation possible. I hope we are able to continue to develop programs with you that meet the interest and needs of our students!
-Joan Northern, Cultural Arts Coordinator Miltonvale and Glasco, KS

It was really nice for me to see that another culture’s stories can be told with integrity and purpose.
-Kris Brown, Teacher, Kansas City, KS

-Lisa Nocita, Barstow School, Kansas City, MO

You gave us a very enjoyable morning, and something that will be remembered for a very long time. You have a great gift, and we are go glad that you came and shared it with us.

We really enjoyed your storytelling at our summer reading program. Parents have commented on how much they and their children liked the stories and the interactive feature. Many went home and retold the tales to family members who did not attend. They’re hoping that you will come back for another performance soon!
-Millicent Kirdler, Kaneohe Library, Hawaii

It wasn’t just another in-service that you sit back and listen. Jo had us participate as if we were the students.
