SEPTEMBER 2023- AUGUST 2024
SEPTEMBER - "ME & YOU & OUR FAMILIES"
In these playful and upbeat stories about names, favorite animals, and best-loved foods, children will discover how they are alike and how they are different. We’ll visit families too, in song and story, capturing the love and nurturing a family provides.
OCTOBER - "GRANDMA’S APRON POCKETS"
Join Granny Jo and her collection of patchwork aprons in these sweet and silly Autumn tales. The kiddos will get to peek in the pockets and pull out some delightful Fall surprises. What’s in your pockets…..Grandma? Some tum tum wonders!
NOVEMBER - “THANKSGIVING GARDEN”
It's turkey time! But let’s not forget the VEGGIES! It will be a culinary delight as Jo serves up stories of crops from the Indigenous American Agriculture- corn, beans, and squash. When planted together, the “Three Sisters” work to help one another thrive. Let’s plant some thankfulness and togetherness too!
DECEMBER - “TREASURES FROM THE TOY CHEST”
Whether it’s a beloved action figurine, a plush toy, a dollhouse, or a wooden train set, the little ones’ eyes will grow wide as they behold cherished toys from long ago. Brighten the holiday season in tales from the dusted off, pried-open attic trunk. A nostalgic treat!
JANUARY - “M IS FOR MOUNTAIN”
She’ll be comin’ round the mountains with kid friendly facts and amazing stories about the famous snowy peaks of Mount Everest, McKinley, Kilimanjaro, and Fuji, just to name a few. Be blanketed in winter awesomeness in these all covered, snow summit legends.
FEBRUARY - "TRAINS, PLANES, AND AUTOMOBILES"
Green light—let’s GO! All aboard—let’s LEARN! Up, up, and away—let’s FLY! Time for some transportation ditties that delight the “I’ve got the travel bug” whippersnappers. We will fuel up with some facts about each mode of travel, along with safety tips and fun activities to make travel time chug pleasantly along.
MARCH - “PIGMANIA!”
Want to have a snortin’ good time in welcoming Spring? It’s time to celebrate National Pig Day—officially March 1, but we’ll be squealing about it all month long. We’ll be making pigs of ourselves in delightful role-playing stories and learn the clever habits of this sometimes misunderstood animal. Oink!
APRIL - “D.E.A.R. DAY!”
“Drop Everything and Read” is a national, April-long celebration of reading designed to remind kids from 0-99 to make reading a daily top priority. As she introduces popular picture books, Jo will prompt and inspire the kids to make sure that reading is a regular part of their routine. Love it when they say……..”please read me a story.”
MAY - “SILLY, DILLY, WILLY, SQUILLY”
What’s that? You want more tato-wato-chatos? Oh, you mean potatoes. Listeners will get to play with word sounds and nonsense words in these hilarious stories where objects and actions are misnamed. Let’s all spooty-dotty-ditty-bip! It’s a verbal jousting program of complete silliness to end the school year.
JUNE - “ROMP ACROSS THE CONTINENTS”
Across the globe we’ll go on a geographical adventure in stories, poems, and songs about our great, big, wonderful world. Suit up as we travel north, south, east, and west to rain forests, deserts, oceans, and islands. Geographers….start your journey!
JULY - “OOEY, GOOEY, STICKY"
“I am stuck on Band-Aid, cause Band-Aid’s stuck on me!” Yes, from Band-Aids to Velcro, and bubblegum to lollipops, it’s all about things that are sticky. Funny tales about honey, glue, and other sticky stuff…including the weather. And in this program, the ultimate display and story of the super, sticky science of SLIME.
AUGUST - “LET’S PRETEND!"
Being a superhero, playing mommy or daddy, flying to the moon, or having a tea-party with a bear is a child’s way of actively jumping into pretend play.
